Jane Miller
Jane started the violin at the age of nine at Redbridge Junior School gaining a scholarship with her inspirational teacher Cissie Hudson.
Following in Cissie’s footsteps Jane qualified as a teacher, having studied at Trent Park, Middlesex University from 1975- 1978. During her time there, she took up viola with Pat Gayne, continued her piano studies with Alan Coggins and, under Alison Milne, gained her LRAM teaching diploma on violin. Since then she has worked with the Redbridge Music Service and maintains her passion for teaching violin and viola to all age groups.
Jane plays regularly with many different ensembles, from string quartets in Hever Castle to opera performances in Wormwood Scrubs and Wandsworth Prisons, and recently with Pegasus Opera’s staging of Delius’ ‘Koanga’ at Sadler’s Wells. She particularly enjoys playing with Terry because of the opportunities it affords to play music from a wide variety of styles.
